Conference Guidelines

Preparation: Attending a training session and/or viewing the training video, frequently checking the official CSUNA website, and keeping up with the current world news are a few ways to prepare for the CSUNA conference. Becoming familiar with CSUNA rules and regulations is also an important preparation step.

Foreign Policy: It is important to be extremely familiar with your country’s foreign policy. Delegates are reminded to debate and act on resolutions in accordance with their foreign policy regardless of personal stance on an issue. A breach in foreign policy may be the grounds for censure of the delegation.

Attendance: Attendance at all committee sessions is mandatory for all delegates. Absences will be reported to the corresponding schools.

Dress Code: Formal business attire, school uniform and/or the appropriate national dress of the delegation are the only acceptable clothing during the conference. Failure to abide by the dress code will result in censure.

Paging System: Written messages, known as pages, will be delivered between delegates, and from delegates to chairs. The paging system is meant to be used to plan and strategize the debates. In the case that the system is abused, the chair of the assembly reserves the right to close the paging system.

Security: Security members are responsible for keeping order and enforcing security rules during the conference. At the discretion of the chair, security members will remove disorderly delegates from the assembly.

Attitude: An attitude of professionalism is expected of all delegates during the conference. A realistic and intelligent attitude on the issues being debated will ensure an interesting and enjoyable experience.
