General Assembly (GA)

The General Assembly is the main and largest legislative body of the United Nations. All member states have a seat in this assembly. The functions and powers of the General Assembly include: considering and making recommendations, discussing issues relating to the promotion of international political cooperation, the development and codification of international law, and the realization of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all. As well, it deals with the international collaboration in economic, social, cultural, educational, and health fields. The assembly also has the power to discuss and make recommendations on any enquiry affecting the powers and functions of any assembly of the United Nations. The General Assembly aims to settle all situations in a peaceful manner and improve global conditions.
