The Economic and Social Council deals with economic and social relations. They are responsibe for setting acceptable ideals for living, full employment, economic and social progress; discover new answers to international economic, social and health problems; overlooking global cultural and educational cooperation; and encouraging universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. The Council has the ability to institute studies and reports on these issues as well as the power to assist in the preparations and organization of major international meetings or conferences that deal with economic, social and other related fields.
